Columnist Ahmed al-Ashwal writes on woes of pensioners in Yemen. He says retirement in our country adopts annoying ways contrary to the simplest civilized rules pursued even the most backward countries that have laid good traditions in this respect observing human rights of the persons who have spent the most of his years in serving his country in a way making them feel their human value.
This also includes providing assurance and satisfaction through an honoring celebration surrounding these aspects, giving material and moral estimation and consideration. Moreover, some of these countries would notify the civil servant about the measure of pension in a sufficient time before the ending of his service.
The concept of retirement in our country would not go beyond a step taken for forcing on the pensioned civil servant a state of ''incapacitation''. It is a kind of judgment sentencing the pensioned to a slow death through his incapacitation . Local press publish calls to the political leadership to pay a caring attention to this situation and tackle all problems related to it.
