Devil on the cross [Archives:2004/747/Letters to the Editor]

I am aghast and taken aback with how the western world wants to throw dust in the eyes of Muslims when it is broad daylight.
The headmaster of America Mr. Bush claims that he wants democracy and political changes in the Muslim world. What a democracy? The democracy of gender parity? Then the holy Koran is clear of everyone's rights, and women have their own rights in Islam, but they can't parallel men in many fields because they are just simply the weaker gender. They say they want a civilized world: what sort of civilization? Back in history the religion Islam civilized man from the Tahiliya (primitiveness) period and hence Muslims are to civilize, not to be civilized.
On the other hand there are world conventions like the Geneva Convention, and the conventions were never mentioned or adhered in Iraq war until corpses of U.S Marines and POWs were shown by Al-Jazeera.
Then we come to the capture of Saddam Hussein. He was displayed before the world press as a haggard, weak human being and the aforesaid convention was not to protect him. Therefore, democracy, civilization, conventions and all that jazz are propaganda from an Anglo-American conspiracy and their bootlickers to invade the Muslim world.
