Writer Zaid al-Shami says in an article the ghoul of corruption is destroying beautiful and sabotages every good, squander every resource. Corruption has deprived our country of much of assistance.

Corrupt situations did not help improve the conditions of people. The rise in oil prices in the world market has not even had good effect on the situation, and the same can be said about loans and aid offers.

We are certain that the state of weakness that characterizes our life is a stage that could be overcome even without extending our hands for the assistance of others. However, corruption has always been the factor preventing us from rising from the bottom to at least to the mountainside, if not the summit.
