Political editor discusses in a front-page article the United Arab Emirates initiative demanding Iraq's president Saddam Hussein to step down. The editor describes the ” initiative” as representing a stab to the Arab dignity. He says it is originally an American initiative but regrettably this time it is presented by an Arab voice. More than one American official has repeatedly demanded the Iraqi president to relinquish his post and leave for any country as a precondition to not launch U.S. aggression on Iraq. The aim is to pave the way for occupying Iraq and not to spare the people of Iraq dangers of the war, as the UAE's initiative claims. The ill-famed initiative, presented in the name of Sheikh Zaid, arouses many queries because Sheikh Zaid is well known for his pan-Arab stands. Some observers are skeptical to be presented by him and some are doubtful about whether the knows about it.
